Volunteer Guild

Kaweah Delta Hospital Guild

The Kaweah Delta Hospital Guild was founded in 1956, and has been going strong ever since. To date, the Guild has volunteered close to two million service hours, and donated about the same amount of money. The money donated is used to purchase patient care equipment for the hospital.

The Guild is an important part of the hospital's team.  Guild  volunteers, both men and women, serve at the hospital's information desk, surgery waiting room, intensive care units, discharge service, hemodialysis units, and the book cart.

The Guild Courtyard, the gift shop in the hospital, is also a service.  This gift shop generates the largest portion of the funds used to buy patient care equipment. It also serves as a convenience for hospital employees and visitors to the hospital.  The Courtyard is stocked with a large variety of gift items, candy, sundries, magazines, and flowers.

Another Guild service, is in the patient comfort area.  Lap robes, caps and pillows are made for the patients in the oncology and rehabilitation units.  "Pillow Pals", as they are called, make quilts, and embroidered pillows for children in the emergency room and for those admitted in to the hospital.

Fundraisers are also held to raise funds for patient care equipment.  Some of them are: the $5 jewelry sales, scrub and shoe sales, leather sales, book sales, floral and home decor sales, and an annual Bunko party and salad luncheon.

We are always looking for more dedicated volunteers. You must be thirty years of age or older, willing to take a TB test, flu shot and back ground check, all of which are Kaweah Delta Hospital's requirements.
