Each patient is treated differently based on their individual needs; I always try my best to ensure that they receive the best treatment possible along with the best comfort that I can give them.

Job Description: My job is to educate the patients of the entire Radiation treatment experience. Initially I collect a health history during the consultation with the patient. I then work in collaboration with the Physicians, Medical Oncologist and my Co-workers to communicate and coordinate a plan of care. Nursing evaluates the patients physical and psychological needs. Educating and reassuring patients and families. My goal with each patient is to provide a safe and comfortable environment to promote a positive Radiation treatment experience.
What do you enjoy about SRCC?: I am a native to the community and am fortunate and honored to be working in a State of the Art facility so close to my neighborhood. Job Description: Nursing sees patients thru their entire course of radiation treatments. From their initial consultation visit, to on-treatment checks and follow-up visits. We also perform special radiation brachytherapy procedures which involves placement of instruments for internal radiation. Nursing triages patient care on a daily basis, provide education regarding treatments and the emotional support and reassurance patients need to completed their treatments.
What do you enjoy about SRCC?: I enjoy working with cancer patients. When I first started my nursing career in 1988 I started on 3South at Kaweah Delta. At that time, 3South was mostly Oncology and a medical/surgical unit. I knew then that my nursing career would be with cancer patients. I strive to provide an atmosphere of comfort and ease with our patients coming in everyday for their treatments here at SRCC. I try to provide education to our patients so that they understand why they are receiving their treatments, the side effects of radiation and outcomes or follow-up care. I feel nursing is one of the most important part of the patient's experience through their cancer journey.

What do you enjoy about SRCC?: I love working here because it is very rewarding and the staff is great. We have a very family oriented environment here. I like the special interaction I have with my patients.
